earthalbum.com was my first hobby site. I’d always suffered from bouts of wanderlust, but my first daughter was on the way and my place was home. I therefore put together a mash-up of Google Earth and Flickr that would allow armchair travel anywhere in the world, from Angkor Wat to Petra to the Eiffel Tower. The site ended up doing pretty well– it was named one of the top ten websites of 2006 by Time Magazine.
Since then, I’ve continued to keep up with technology trends. This is an attempt to try to write down some of my observations; hopefully you’ll find them useful!
